Mission:

Can-Do Canines is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities by creating mutually beneficial partnerships with specially trained dogs free of charge.

THE PROBLEM

Obtaining a service animal can be a complicated and stressful process. Can-Do Canine’s website was full of valuable information, however, it was not easy to locate. The redesign addressed issues such as a cleaning up the navigation, information architecture and overall layout in order to create a user experience that is effortless and accessible.

USER RESEARCH

We created a user research plan and performed interviews and usability testing to address and understand the unique needs, must-have’s and pain-points not only when navigating the existing website but also when beginning the overall process of obtaining a service animal.

The main take aways from the interviews were that users felt a lot of uncertainty surrounding the process of obtaining a service animal and how to access accurate information. The usability testing showed frustration with navigation, information overload and an overall feeling of being overwhelmed by the site.
